Akuei Deng Kak. The meeting was carried out by the PPDAA through the Public Financial Management & Institutional Strengthening (PFMIS) Project being Implemented by the Ministry of Finance and Planning through a Grant by the World Bank
This was an introductory meeting between the PPDAA Board who have the mandate to guide and monitor procurement and disposal of assets across all entities, and the Accounting Officers who have the responsibility of ensuring that procurement and disposal of assets activities carried out by their entities comply with the Law and Regulations. It was intended to make the Accounting Officers aware of their responsibilities and those of the PPDAA Board towards ensuring that procurement and disposal of assets processes comply with the Law.
One critical issue that was emphasized during the meeting was for the Accounting Officers to create the necessary structures required under the PPDA Act 2018, which includes the formation of Procurement Committees and Units in the entities. The Accounting Officers were requested to form and submit the names of the appointed members of Procurement Committees within one month of the date of the meeting to enable PPDAA organize capacity building workshops to the appointed members.
The meeting was the third in a series of similar working meetings with the Accounting Officers. Previous meetings were held on 20th and 22nd June 2023 for Accounting Officers of Ministries and Agencies respectively.
