Disaster Risk management Measures for Fashoda County

The Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) has been prepared for the Immediate Flood Mitigation Measures (IFMM) dike upgrading and drainage system works in Kodok Town, Fashoda County, Upper Nile State, under the Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance Project Phase II (ECRP II). The project, funded by the World Bank and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Government of South Sudan, seeks to strengthen community resilience, improve access to services, and enhance disaster risk management capacity in flood-prone areas.

The primary objective of the proposed sub-projects is to reduce recurrent flood risks that have historically affected Kodok Town and surrounding communities, resulting in displacement, loss of livelihoods, and damage to infrastructure.
