This Generic Environmental and Social Management Plan (G-ESMP) has been prepared for the Disaster
Risk Management infrastructure in Pibor Town, Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), South Sudan,
implemented under the Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance Project – Phase II (ECRP
II), financed by the World Bank and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
on behalf of the Government of South Sudan. After noting the similar aspects and impacts of the proposed
subprojects, this G-ESMP is developed in accordance with the project Environmental and Social
Management Framework (ESMF), the Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP), and the World
Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), and is aligned with relevant national laws and regulations
of South Sudan.
