
PPDAA’S BOARD MEMBERS HOLDS A MEETING WITH ACCOUNTING OFFICERS

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDAA) organized one-day workshop focused on the progress made in setting up the public procurement and clearance system in South Sudan.
The meeting aims to create awareness among Accounting Officers on responsibilities towards ensuring that procurement and disposal of assets are conducted in compliance with the law.
Speaking during the official opening, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Bech George Anyak, urged the Accounting Officers to implement procurement procedures based on available resources and for MDA’s to make use of the limited resources as part of their work in service delivery to the citizens.
On his part, The Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority, Hon. Ayii Bol, acknowledged the financial roles played by the World Bank with other development partners in the Country.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of PPDAA, Hon. Deng Akuei Kak underlined the procurement systems and regulations to strengthen the budget processes ahead of the fiscal year.
Hon. Deng stressed that, "its law, not optional and that every accounting officer of the government must abide by the provisions".
